Here are some tips on how to analyse fake COVID19 videos

Updated: May 27, 2020

Videos can also be a source of misinformation if taken out of context or outright manipulated, especially during the COVID19 pandemic. In this example from AFPFactCheck, a viral video showing various kinds of wildlife for sale (eg. rats, snakes, bats) claimed that this market is from Wuhan, China. In the caption, the user even added that this is where COVID19 originated from.

But how do we verify that is true?

We can use InVID, an online tool for verifying video to debunk this information. InVID automatically detects multiple keyframes for easy reverse image search, and supports many reverse image sites like Yandex and Google Images.
